Safety Committee/Representative Basics

In Manitoba, provincially regulated workplaces with more than 20 employees are required by law to have a functioning Safety & Health Committee. As of April 2014, workplaces with 5 or more employees, must designate a worker safety representative.  Legislation states "all safety committee members (where no committee exists, the representative) must receive adequate training so that they understand their roles and responsibilities and are equipped to aid in the development and implementation of a workplace safety and health program."

This workshop will help participants understand legal requirements of committees, provide them with the tools and have a basic understanding of the duties and functions of an effective Safety Committee.

This workshop is geared towards safety committee members, safety representatives or anybody with a general interest in safety committees and its functions.
