This course will cover information on mortgaging capital items through banks and credit unions and the ratios of how much they will be able to mortgage.  There is also information given on different types of loans available through finance companies, credit unions and banks.  Other sources of financing include credit cards, suppliers granting credit terms, government loans and grants, angel money, investors and venture capital.  The class will discuss some pros and cons of the different methods of financing and the criteria that each one looks at when granting loans.  The viability of the venture often hinges on the participant being able to acquire start-up financing that they require.
