MTEC provides training to all organizations within the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.  The six main industry groups are identified as:

1.      Food and Beverage Services

      This group includes all foodservice, licensed and unlicensed beverage establishment in the province, including: full service restaurants, ice cream parlors, coffee shop, bars, lounges, etc.

2.       Accommodations

     This group encompasses any business that provides accommodations in Manitoba, including hotels, motels, lodges, cabin rentals, bed and breakfasts, yurts, etc.

3.     Transportation

The Transportation group includes businesses primarily involved in transportation to and within the province like, taxis, busses, air travel, train transport, etc.

4.     Travel Services

The Travel Services group includes travel agents, tourism visitor information counselors, manager of travel trade services, etc.

5.       Recreation & Entertainment

Any business involved in the production of live performances or events, historical, cultural or educational events, exhibits and operations that provide recreation or leisure-time activities are included in this very diverse group.  This would include everything from museums, pools, ski areas, rural attractions, concert halls, etc.
